What's a ballpark figure for replacing an exterior solid core wood door and doorframe

Need to replace front door and doorframe.Need to have idea of what to

That is a hard question to answer because there are so many

different kinds of doors. You might get a simple, plain door installed for

elaborate door. The best thing you can do to protect yourself against

rip-off artists & incompetent boneheads is to: 1) Get at least 3

estimates. 2) Get references from each contractor. 3) Insist that each  
contractor have his insurance agent send a Certificate of Insurance.  
 
After you get estimates, it is possible to call a supply house & learn the  
cost of materials. If you do that, remember that most contractors mark up  
materials to defray costs that can not easily be included in the direct  
cost of installing the door. One rule of thumb that some contractors use  
is that the total job should cost about 3 times the cost of materials.  
That isn't a hard & fast rule, but rather a guideline.
