How can I remove latex exterior paint from a metal door
l painted the metal front door with latex paint but it peels everytime
something scratches it.l was told this would not happen if l use oil-based
paint, but I am not sure of how to get the current paint totally off to do
that.
There are non toxic paint remover chemicals.
I would use a paint stripper to get the most of it off, then
sand it, then primer it. I would use Rustnolium paint and for extra
protection you could use a few light coats of polyurethane.
sand it down. primer it. then paint with oil base paint. that
should do the trick.
